How to sign up for a library card

For Milton Residents

Milton Free Public Library cards are free to any individual renting or owning property in Milton. Residents may apply for a library card with either:

  • Photo ID (Driver’s License) with current Milton address
  • Photo ID (Driver’s License) with non-Milton address AND proof of residency

Acceptable proof of residency includes:

  • Recent pay stub
  • Copy of signed lease/ mortgage papers
  • Car registration
  • Checkbook
  • Current utility bill
  • Property tax receipt

For Non-Residents

Lebanon, Acton, and other area non-residents may purchase a Milton Free Public Library card for $25 a year (cash, or checks can be made out to the Milton Free Public Library). These fees have been approved by the Library Board of Trustees. Non-resident fees help cover the extra costs that online services like Hoopla, adopted during the pandemic, have added to our annual budget. It would be unfair to resident taxpayers to provide library services to non-residents for any less. Thank you for understanding.
